Real vs Steal: Self Portrait Dress
At the beginning of this year, when I first came across the Self Portrait collections, it was love at first site. But this was a story of a poor girl in love with a rich guy! With an average starting price of $200 dollars, it was way beyond my graduate student budget for a single clothing item and it was heart breaking. Fortunately some budget shops quickly came up with dupes and no love was lost!
The dress from Shein (under $40) is an exact dupe of a beautiful Self Portrait dress ($320). The only major issue is that the dress is made for regular sized ladies and not petite ladies like me. Therefore, the top half is a little loose on me. But it is not something that can’t be easily altered by my good man tailor. Other than that the dress is exquisite. The lace is of great quality and looks flawless. This teal color is perfect for fall. I paired it with ear crawlers from Baublebar (only $16, on sale now!) and ankle booties.
Thanks for reading! Check out my previous review on another Self Portrait dupe here.
